Built on systems. Grounded in experience.
Bringing institutional-grade financial operations thinking to small and growing businesses.

Why Numbers First exists
Numbers First Bookkeeping was built on a simple belief: better numbers lead to better business.
Before working with small and mid-sized businesses, I spent over two decades in senior financial operations roles within large, regulated financial institutions—where accuracy, controls, and system integrity weren't optional. They were the foundation for every decision.
In those environments, financial data had to be:
- Structured correctly from the start
- Maintained consistently over time
- Auditable, explainable, and trusted
That experience shapes how I approach bookkeeping today.
A systems-first approach, shaped by real financial operations work
My career was built in accounting support, treasury cash management, and financial systems leadership at a $50B financial institution, where I led initiatives involving:
- General ledger structure and chartfield design
- Cash management and bank account architecture
- System implementations and data integrations
- Audit-ready controls and process governance
- Workflow redesign to reduce risk and improve efficiency
I wasn't just using financial systems—I was designing, fixing, and governing them.
That perspective carries directly into my bookkeeping work today. I don't treat QuickBooks as a data entry tool. I treat it as a financial system that must be configured, maintained, and reviewed with intention.
This is why my work starts with structure, not shortcuts.

More than a bookkeeper—your financial operations partner
When you work with Numbers First Bookkeeping, you're not outsourcing a task. You're gaining a partner who understands how financial data flows through a business—and how small breakdowns can create big downstream problems.

- Clear communication without jargon
- Systems that scale as your business grows
The goal isn't just clean books.
The goal is confidence in your numbers.

Better Numbers. Better Business.
Clean, accurate, well-structured books don't just support compliance—they support clarity, confidence, and growth.
That's the standard behind every engagement at Numbers First Bookkeeping.
